I became a drummer to help provide me with a credible ‘legend’ to facilitate a convincing cover in my day job!! Lol
Although maybe a little misguided, I have taken this endeavour very seriously.
I have played in live bands for over 25 years and reached a decent level of musical competency.
I have accumulated a significant amount of live music experience in a variety of different bands in the Bristol area and Essex, all of which gigged regularly.
I consider myself to be a tasteful and solid member of the rhythm section and always put the music/song above my ego.
A bass player I once played alongside in one of my formative bands nailed it when he said, ‘You have quite an orchestral style of playing’?
When I asked him to clarify this, he said ‘You play exactly what is required musically for every song we play!!’. He also said, ‘I think I know what you do for a living too’!!
He may have been right on one of those counts!!
